LAWRENCE DRIVE | CANFORD CLIFFS, DORSET

A mid-century, Palm Springs inspired aesthetic.

Embracing a clean, mid-century modern aesthetic, this home in Canford Cliffs, Poole, elegantly integrates Palm Springs inspired architecture into its design. The minimalist style is enhanced by highly refined composition of well detailed timber, Purbeck stone and porcelain tile which wrap the elevations. The stone finish on the ground floor gives a connection between the hard landscaping elements in the garden and sharp architecture of the first floor.

The floor plan is thoughtfully arranged to create varied internal and external spaces with a range of uses. Upon entering the house beneath the louvered canopy, an uninterrupted axis leads the eye through the house towards the rear, with a suspended fireplace becoming a focal point and large glazing framing the garden.

At the rear, the home transforms into an entertainment haven designed for leisure and socialising. Special attention was given to the landscaping, incorporating louvered canopy areas over sunken seating, a daybed, an outdoor bar, pool, and a hot tub. Additionally, a carefully curated rockery garden with selected planting compliments the architecture and ties it back to the ethos of the Palm Springs brief of connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
