GARDEN PAVILION | BOURNEMOUTH, DORSET

Stemmed directly from the light-filled, and pristine nature of the garden itself.

The design concept for ‘The Garden Room’ stemmed directly from the light-filled, and pristine nature of the garden itself. In response, the design organically evolved into an open space which seamlessly melds the boundaries between internal and external areas with flush thresholds and uninterrupted openings.

Despite the Garden Room’s modest size, the plan remains highly functional through strategic placement of a bar, kitchenette, and living area. Each of these spaces maintain a strong visual connection to the garden, facilitated by thin framed glazing, a louvered facade and sliding panels that meet at the cantilevered corner, where a suspended fireplace becomes a focal point.
