BURY ROAD | BRANKSOME PARK

A modern twist on the traditional pitched roof home.

A modern twist on the traditional pitched roof home, this dual-pitch house sits well within the street scene while adding elements of modern sophistication. The distinctive character of the site is complimented by the finely-crafted details of the contemporary design, including concealed gutters, sharp chamfers and integrated landscaping.

Internally, the spacious layout reflects the client’s requirement for social areas, including entertainment and leisure spaces. Noteworthy design elements include expansive double-height atriums, and a bridge which connects the generous master suite to the secondary bedroom wing. The design also promotes the harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor space, achieved through the green roofs that blur the boundaries between the architecture and the landscaped garden when viewed from bedroom suite

Situated within the esteemed and well protected Branksome Park Conservation Area, this site had many specific requirements based on its surroundings. The success of our approach is demonstrated by the granted planning permission. This highlights our ability to align designs with both the local authority’s requirements and the aspirations of our client - something we pride ourselves on at Marlow Architects.
