BRANKSOME PARK HOUSE | POOLE, DORSET

Contemporary new build in the heart of a conservation area.

Designed for a spacious tree lined plot within a Conservation Area, this house plays with materiality and form by expressing the architectural elements with earthy tones and areas of glass allowing carefully considered and controlled views into and out of the house.

The rich pallet of materials include: Purbeck stone, zinc, porcelain tiles, aluminium, glass and timber. Marlow will often focus on fewer materials within one building however these materials work together to create a consistent earthy tonal range connecting the building to the informal gardens and landscaped areas.

The horizontal feel is key to the success of the composition that has been inspired by great architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles R Stinson (two of our favourite architects of all time).

Despite being highly contemporary, the design aspiration was to create a very natural and soft and welcoming feel to the home.
